Pitavastatin lactone-d5 is the deuterium labeled Pitavastatin lactone. Pitavastatin lactone is a major metabolite of Pitavastatin in humans. Pitavastatin is a potent competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase little metabolized in hepatic microsomes[1].
