Chondroitin sulfate sodium (from shark cartilage), one of five classes of glycosaminoglycans, has been widely used in the treatment of osteoarthritis. Chondroitin sulfate reduces inflammation mediators and the apoptotic process and is able to reduce protein production of inflammatory cytokines, iNOS and MMPs[1][2][3][4].

Chondroitin sulfate sodium (from shark cartilage) 是一类硫酸化糖胺聚糖，是由糖醛酸和N-乙酰己糖胺组成的重复二糖单元组成的线性多糖。包括寄生虫、细菌和病毒在内的多种病原体已显示利用细胞表面 Chondroitin sulfate 链附着并感染宿主细胞[1]。
Chondroitin sulfate 天然存在于结缔组织的细胞外基质中，例如骨骼、软骨、皮肤、韧带和肌腱。Chondroitin sulfate 已显示出一系列有益作用：抗炎作用、II 型胶原蛋白和蛋白多糖的增加、骨吸收减少以及软骨细胞中更好的合成代谢/分解代谢平衡[2]。
